Pat March, Birds through my Window, 116cm x 108cm
In Holiday Morning, “The window idea appeals to
me, particularly when the view is comprised of birds in
trees,” laughs Kathy. This very simple appliqué project
was quilted with traditional cotton on a holiday at Valla
Beach, NSW. “I would get up early and sit and stitch
listening to the birds outside.” Kathy also added a fun
zigzag border of bright colour. The branches were made
by slicing through the background white fabric before the
birds were appliquéd.
