}In mid 1995 Michele’s focus
turned to reproducing
antique Baltimore
quilts with a náive style.
authored a book that it is a lot of work for minimal return;
and personal satisfaction rather than financial gain will be
your truest reward. The book was published by South
Australian company, Country Bumpkin/Inspirations books,
and they have created a splendid publication full of beautiful
images. “I hope William Morris would have been pleased!”
Additionally, the Art Gallery of South Australia was involved
in the process, “… It was an absolute thrill and honour to
work with them.”
“What a privilege it is, that I am able to travel and meet
like-minded quilters and even contemplate giving up nursing
to follow my dream.” Michele’s reputation is taking on a wider
reach; she was recently invited to teach at the Festival of
Quilts in Birmingham, Britain in August 2010. She has started
a second book with all new designs … “and who knows
where else it will take me!”
